Sony has allegedly been working on new PlayStation 5 versions for some time. A new one has been added to the leaks about PlayStation 5 Pro and Slim. An image shared on Twitter was claimed to belong to the PlayStation 5 Slim. So what is the difference between them and PS5?
PlayStation 5 Slim may be lighter and thinner
Sony is working on a slimmer and lighter version of the PlayStation 5, according to a new leak. An image posted on gaming forums provides a first glimpse of what the PlayStation 5 Slim will look like. The leaked image shows a console that looks very similar to the PS5, but with a few key changes.
First, the console appears to have black air vents on both sides of the chassis. While the overall dimensions appear to be similar to the PS5, earlier claims suggested that the PS5 Slim will be smaller.
The first rumors about the Slim version appeared in Microsoft’s court filing. The company claimed that Sony was working on a “lower-performance” console and would introduce it in 2023. The court filing even revealed a price tag of $399 for the PS5 Slim. This is very competitive compared to the $499 price of the standard PS5.
Sony has yet to make an official announcement about the PS5 Slim. However, the leaked image suggests that the company may be working on a smaller and sleeker version of the next-generation console. A launch at the end of the year could create a new wave of sales for the PS5.
Sony also released its financial report for the first quarter of its fiscal year the other day. This report revealed both positive and negative results. Sony said that Gaming and Network services grew 27 percent year-on-year.
